Back from vacation!
I'm back home after about a month of travelling to Las Vegas, California, and Wisconsin. Had an amazing time attending Evo 2017 and RDC 2017, and it was great to have a nice, long break from everything else. :)
Anyways, it's been a while since I've talked to you all, so I figured I'd let you know how things are going on Roblox.
You may remember that we (the Cinder Studio team) have been making plans to create a different, brand new game. We've been going back and forth with ideas and some of them couldn't quite become reality, but now we're working on a more solid game plan which will hopefully be ready sometime by the end of the year.
As for RHS, I'd best be honest, it's getting much more difficult to continue adding new features to the game. This is because the game is getting very old, the internal game code is very messy and uses a lot of old/inefficient systems, and certain features are becoming very outdated. While I would want to clean everything up, it takes a LOT of time and energy to fix these sorts of issues.
The update that was originally planned for this summer (originally being developed by Frankie, now being worked on by Wonuf instead) has been running into a lot of issues and could not be completed yet, so I can't make any promises on if/when it will ever come out. Wonuf has been dealing with a lot of real life stuff which has prevented him from spending as much time on Roblox, but he plans on getting back to work soon as possible once those things are all sorted out. I apologize for even saying anything about the update before it was actually ready, my intention had just been to announce that a new developer had joined our team. I will no longer hint at any updates until they are actually 100% ready.
But maybe I'd need to make a brand new RHS at some point in the far future... (That's just a little thought of mine, not a concrete plan)
However, there's still more stuff that's definitely coming to the game! Our partnered clothing designers continue to release regular updates to their stores in the RHS mall. There's a special Back to School collection that's being released by Nilvou very soon! We're also approaching the 400M visits milestone soon, which will mean your favorite thing - another weekend party with free rental gear! And the upcoming fall/winter months mean that your favorite holiday events will be returning to the game soon :)
